Originally the whisky still were heater by the direct fire ,now most distilleries heat the stills by seam with a coil . the gas heating also is okay to process

Second distillation

During second distillation the same principles apply as the first distillation , Spirit stills typically run about 6 hours with the batch of distillate produced by second distillation,having a strength of around 70% Alc/vol , if you need a third distillation ,it can reach about 80%
